Windows 11: Use Storage Sense to Auto-Delete Temporary Files

- 21.02.26 - ErcanOPAK

Manually cleaning temp files is tedious. Storage Sense automatically removes junk on schedule.

Enable:
Settings → System → Storage → Storage Sense → Turn on

Configure Auto-Cleanup:
– Run Storage Sense: Every day / week / month / when disk space low
– Delete files in Recycle Bin older than: 1 / 14 / 30 / 60 days
– Delete files in Downloads folder older than: Never / 1 / 14 / 30 / 60 days
– Delete temp files apps aren’t using

What Gets Cleaned:
✓ Temporary files
✓ Recycle Bin (based on age setting)
✓ Downloads folder (optional)
✓ OneDrive cloud-only files to free local space
✓ Previous Windows installation (after 10 days)
✓ Delivery Optimization files

Manual Cleanup: Storage → Temporary files → Check items → Remove files

Typical Recovery: 5-20GB freed automatically every month!
