📡 Send Files Without USB, Email, or Cloud
Need to send a file to the computer next to you? Nearby Sharing uses Bluetooth + Wi-Fi. Like Airdrop for Windows.
🔧 Enable Nearby Sharing
Settings → System → Nearby sharing → On Choose: - Everyone nearby (anyone with Bluetooth) - My devices only (same Microsoft account) For desktop PCs without Bluetooth: - Both PCs need to be on same Wi-Fi network - Enable Bluetooth anyway (Windows uses Wi-Fi if Bluetooth missing)
📝 Send Files
Method 1: Right-click file → Share → Choose device Method 2: File Explorer → Share tab → Share button Method 3: Ctrl + Click (select multiple) → Share Receiving: - Notification appears on recipient PC - Choose Save or Open - Files saved in Downloads by default
✅ Tips
- Both PCs need Windows 11 or 10 (April 2018 update+)
- Transfer speed: 10-50 MB/s (depends on Wi-Fi)
- Works with any file type (photos, documents, zips)
- No internet required (local network only)
“Used to email files to my coworker sitting next to me. Nearby Sharing: right-click, share, done in 5 seconds. No more 10MB email limits.”
