Visual Studio: Use Error List to See All Issues in One Place

- 13.06.26 - ErcanOPAK

⚠️ Not Just Errors — Warnings, Messages, Build Output

Build output is messy. Error List groups errors, warnings, and messages. Filter, sort, double-click to fix. Essential for clean builds.

🔧 Using Error List

View → Error List (Ctrl + \, E)

Tabs:
- Errors: Build failures, compilation errors
- Warnings: Potential issues (not blocking)
- Messages: Info, build messages

Filters:
- Show: Errors, Warnings, Messages
- Scope: Open documents, Current project, Entire solution
- Sort by: Project, File, Line, Description

Double-click any item → jumps to that line

✅ Pro Tips

  • Clear error list: Right-click → Show Errors Only → Clear
  • Suppress warnings for specific line with #pragma warning disable
  • Set warnings as errors for release builds
  • Analyze -> Run Code Analysis for deeper checks

“Scrolling build output for errors is painful. Error List groups all errors. Click, fix, rebuild. Essential for zero-warning policy.”
