Photoshop: Use Color Range Selection for Precise Color-Based Selections

- 21.02.26 - ErcanOPAK

Magic Wand selects similar colors nearby. Color Range selects ALL instances of a color anywhere in image.

Access: Select → Color Range

How to Use:
1. Click eyedropper on color you want to select
2. Adjust “Fuzziness” slider to expand/contract selection
3. Use + eyedropper to add more colors
4. Use – eyedropper to subtract colors
5. Preview shows what will be selected (white = selected)

Selection Options:
– Sampled Colors (your click)
– Reds, Yellows, Greens, Cyans, Blues, Magentas
– Highlights, Midtones, Shadows
– Out of Gamut (unprintable colors)

Perfect For:
– Select all blue sky across entire image
– Select all skin tones for color correction
– Remove green screen background
– Change specific product colors

Way more powerful than Magic Wand!
