Photoshop: Restore Old Photos Like a Pro

📷 Restore Old Photos = Bring Memories Back

Old photos fade and tear. Photo restoration brings them back. Remove damage, colorize, sharpen.

📝 Restoration Steps

# 1. Scan at High Resolution
- 600+ DPI
- Save as TIFF/RAW

# 2. Fix Damage
- Clone Stamp (S)
- Healing Brush (J)
- Patch Tool (J)
- Content-Aware Fill

# 3. Remove Dust and Scratches
- Filter → Noise → Dust & Scratches
- Radius: 1-3 pixels

# 4. Adjust Levels
- Image → Adjustments → Levels (Ctrl+L)
- Set black/white points
- Improve contrast

# 5. Sharpen
- Filter → Sharpen → Unsharp Mask
- Amount: 50-100%
- Radius: 1-2 pixels

# 6. Colorize (if needed)
- Add Adjustment Layer
- Color Balance
- Selective Color

🎯 Advanced Techniques

# Frequency Separation
1. Duplicate layer (2x)
2. Gaussian Blur on bottom (10px)
3. Apply Image on top
4. Set blend mode to Linear Light
5. Use clone stamp on high frequency

# Repair Large Damage
1. Select damaged area
2. Content-Aware Fill (Shift+Backspace)
3. Refine with Healing Brush

# Remove Tears/Scratches
1. Select tear
2. Patch tool (J)
3. Clone from good area

# Restore Faded Colors
1. Levels (Ctrl+L)
2. Color Balance (Ctrl+B)
3. Selective Color

# Increase Resolution
1. Image → Image Size
2. Resample: Preserve Details
3. 2x enlargement

# Colorize Black & White
1. Color Balance adjustment
2. Colorize option
3. Add color gradually
